Best Prop Firm in 2026

Every list of the “best prop firm” is affiliate-ranked. Here are the seven objective criteria that actually predict whether a firm is worth trading with.

The seven criteria that matter

  1. Rule transparency. One page shows daily DD, max DD, target, min days, payout cycle. No fine-print traps.
  2. Payout reliability. Public payout list with dates and sizes, not just screenshots.
  3. Platform quality. A trading terminal that shows the same balance and drawdown as your dashboard in real time.
  4. Profit split. 80% is a healthy baseline; scaling to 90% via rewards or milestones is common at serious firms.
  5. Support response time. 24 hours max on tickets. Live channels during trading hours.
  6. KYC clarity. Documented steps, sensible ID requirements, no arbitrary rejections.
  7. Scaling plan. A defined path across the account sizes offered, with clear milestones.

How to test a firm in 20 minutes

  • Open their rules page — count how many clicks to find daily DD. More than one = bad sign.
  • Look for a verified-certificate or public-payout page. If it doesn't exist, walk away.
  • Open a support ticket asking about EA usage. Response time is a proxy for everything.
  • Search Trustpilot for “payout” specifically. Filter by 1-star and read the recent ones.
